Hi,
I'm looking to purchase a mattress for my child (twin size mattress, no box spring needed). I've seen no-name brand mattresses at about $90-$100 and name brand ones up to $1000.
Is there really a difference between the low priced mattress and high priced mattress? What should I look for when buying a mattress for a young child?
Thanks..

If you're not getting a box spring, make sure you get one that's a little more firm, because it won't have the same support without the box spring. A good mattress (without all the frills) can be got for $200 - 300 and be fine. I think when you get too expensive, they get too much more kooshy and soft (my opinion).
Find a mattress store and ask for a mattress that would go well on a day bed (no box spring)
Consider talay latex with a wool fleece pad.
